We have been working on some house projects - just a few things here and there. We painted a bathroom and a bedroom. We (okay.. I) decorated room and redecorated them. Mostly because I don't have a set decorating style.. and love like a million different looks...
And turns out.. my hubs is pretty darn handy... and created a few pieces for our house that are amazing. It makes me really happy that I married someone amazing.. who is just starting to express his handy little self.. but he is a perfectionist.. and I love each thing he made so far!
New hooks for our front entryway. They house all my purses and bags (ok, I use like 3) and all of Sasha's leashes (she neeeeds to be fashionable.. heh). It was supposed to be a cheap project.. but ended up being preeeetty expensive when I bought the hooks from Anthropologie. Because everything in Anthropologie is amazing.. but not cheap. Oh well.. I think we can consider it a piece we will take with us to other houses in the future. Right?
Painting our bedroom. It was once a baby blue. Now its a relaxing grey. Ahhh.. I sleep betta. No, for reals.. I do!
Our new headboard for our master bedroom. As I type this.. its now black to match the rest of our furniture. I don't have pics uploaded yet.. but I'll take some pictures once he is finished. He promises to finish it this weekend while I head to Chitown to see the fam.
And my favorite project so far... our back patio. *And I helped with it!!*
Here is a before shot :
Not so great right!? I mean, it was all right, but it wasn't big enough and it just wasn't as cute as the rest of our house..
But after :
Tada! Isn't it so much better?! (Some rocks are darker because they are wet). We expanded our actual patio by adding a row of 16x16 concrete blocks then added some stone and plants... and viola! amazing little oasis.. that's all ours. I'm perty proud of it.. if you can't tell. And it was all husband's idea.. well I added the plants.. but still!
*I'z be real good if you let me come play outside too Ma? See??!*
I have to say, being married is definetly awesome. Sometimes I forget how lucky I am to have a "forever roommate" that I love so much.. and who is so handy.
Because lets be honest... I'm great at buying new placemats.. but I sure don't think I could build myself a headboard. :)
Any house projects you've done lately?? Because I love to see any new ideas.. especially for smaller houses (we have a townhouse)
