Chore Chart

A while back, I read a blog entry about creating a chore chart. I thought it was GENIUS.

A fellow blogger had started one, and said her house was in a constant state of "clean"... LUST.

So I decided to utilize my Google Calendar and make a chore chart for myself. First I made a list of all the chores that I do weekly at my house, and broke them out into their own special day... I realized that each chore in its singular only *really* takes me like 15 minutes to do. Can I give my cute lil' house 15 minutes or so of time each day... I think so! Well rather.. I'd like to think so...

I'll start following the little chore chart this weekend (N. and I had to clean our WHOLE house last night because we have company coming over for dinner, and I like people to think our house is always in a state of cleaaaannn - it isn't, BTW). I'll let you know as I progress how it goes.. we will see.

There is one problem with the chore chart. I mentioned it to N. last night, and he pouted all night about it. While I made the chore chart mostly for me (the only little "chore" he does around the house is vacuum..), he did NOT like the idea of it. Holy crap - we discussed it ALL.FREAKIN'.NIGHT. Apparently he had a chore chart when he was a kid and HATED IT. I'm half tempted to make an actual chart on a posterboard, complete with shiny stickers for him just to watch his reaction. To say the least, he isn't thrilled.

I think the chart will be a great reminder to do things that I put off until I start to get nagged about them. Things like washing our sheets (I know, gross), filing all my paperwork, and ironing clothes. Knowing that I only have to do one or two tasks per day might really help this lazy unmotivated girl.

We shall see. Hopefully N. comes around - I don't want to have a sulky hubs, thats for sure.
