The Kitchen Table Dilemma

Husband and I are officially homeowners. And it is awesome.

We signed our lives away on Monday and have been SLOWLY moving things into the new place ever since. We decided to put off actually moving in until this weekend, mostly because we work all day and don't want to force people to assist with the move until the weekend.

So I've been living with my three favorite Minneapolis boys this past week. Tonight is our last official night in the house on Emerson. Oh how I will miss it and its delightfully heated floors.

So far, we've unpacked pretty much everything we have that could be moved in our cars (which I've learned we can fit a suprising amount of stuff into) and put as much of it away as we could. So yesterday, after we decided we couldn't move much else to the new place without the help of good ol' Uhaul (hate hate hate), we decided to handle the furniture - get it ordered and move right along on our merry way. The plan was to order it (we had already selected what we wanted, just had to actually buy it) and have it delivered on Saturday.

I should know better than to plan.

Husband is a genious and decided to measure a few key areas in the house. Good thing he did- the kitchen table we wanted was going to be too freakin' big.

You've got to be kidding me.

So we set off to the furniture store in a horrible mood with low hopes of finding another table we liked. Because we loved the one that won't fit. Damn. So we looked at few places, decided we didn't really like anything, and went home.

Well, before we went home, we dropped some serious cash at the worst-layed out Target ever... but that is a story in and of itself.

So the search continues for the perfect kitchen table. Which we won't really use unless we have people over because we are TV watchers while we eat. We talk enough in the car everyday, no need for formal dinners.

Wish us luck. Or, better yet, send suggestions as to where we can find a mini 36" table. Because thats really all we need or want at this point.

Loves.
