One year and two days ago I stood up in a very special wedding.
One of my best friends/cousin got married and I was lucky enough to be a bridesmaid. It meant a lot to me, since we had pretty much grown up together. While we weren't always close, we always had a bond. I can remember exactly where I was when she called me to ask if I would be in the wedding - I felt so happy!
I can't believe it has been a little teeny bit over a year since then. So much has changed. She is preggers with a little baby girl nugget, who is a bit demanding and makes me hit my knees every day in prayer for them.
It was such a special day. And I'm so proud of my little Maria. Can't wait to meet the Peanut either! :)
"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it." - Groucho Marx

New Things
Hi Ya'll.
Its been FOREVA since I posted last - whoops.
Things have been busy 'round these parts.
The marathon of Saturday football games is over, however, that doesn't mean live has slowed down much.
Last weekend we traveled (by car - 12 hrs.. yikes!) to MI for a family wedding. It was fabulous to see everyone. The wedding was for N.'s cousin, so he was in the wedding. It was fun to see him all dressed up, he looked so handsome! It was a refreshing change of pace, plus I got to hang out with N.'s little sisters, which is always a plus. His mom's side of the family has tons of new families, which means lots of little babies. It was so fun to play with them.. but I'm definetly not ready for a baby for AWHILE. They are so cute, but so demanding!
Now that we are back, we are both battling colds - yuck.
It wouldn't be so bad - except we decided to get a puppy!
We picked her up on Monday, and fortunately we both had the day off since we were sick. Boo.
We named her Sasha, and she is the absolute cutest thing ever! We adopted her from a family who could no longer take care of her, so she is about 5 months old. She is pretty much trained, sleeping through the night, and just funny to watch. She is a bundle of energy though, whew!
I can't wait until we are healthy again - I think she just might be an excellent running partner!
